Kyle is today's senior feature! He's a high school senior at Gardner High, and a ridiculously awesome kid. And I don't just say this because he said all of his senior pictures were "sick" which let's be honest, made me feel pretty good. He was also beyond easy to work with, has a great sense of humor (aka laughed at all of my jokes) and is the BEST big brother. Here are a few of my favorites from Kyle's mountaintop senior portrait session.
Meet Nikki! I photographed her big sis a couple of years ago, and was thrilled to be meeting/photographing her to celebrate her 2015 Wachusett High Senior Year. We chose one of my favorite locations in Sterling for her senior portrait session, which has a lot of great "backdrops" in a small amount of space. Here are some of our favorites!
We covered the silly to the soulful and everything in between!
Madison traveled to see me for her Mahar High senior pictures - she was looking for something different for her high school senior portrait. Something unique that would express her fun and vibrant spirit. She's super active at her school - field hockey, student council, you name it. She's got it going on. So I thought for weeks about her session, and came up with a fun idea that would give us lots of photo opps.
Her session is filled with style, color and fun...she was up for anything, and the Queen of the Wobble even got her wobble on in the middle of the city. Love this girl!
Taylor's senior session is one of my favorites of the season. We headed just down the road from their home for her pictures, with mom and little sis Sadie alongside. Everything came together perfectly, from Taylor's relaxed demeanor to her outfit selections (so glad she braved the blue dress... even though it was about 50 degrees out!), to the perfectly overcast skies.
Mom helped me manage the reflector, and when we turned it just right, it popped the most magical light into her eyes.
Taylor is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and one of the parts of herself that she's most proud of is being the best big sister to her sidekick Sadie. So it only felt right to include Sadie in Taylor's pictures. We created a few casual portraits and then had some fun with the fallen leaves.
Taylor totally got her model on with me...mom & Sadie headed down the hill and T and I spent a few extra minutes just the two of us, creating these gorgeous portraits...which ended up being mom's favorites!
Taylor, Ronelle & Sadie - this session was such a pleasure and I've loved getting to know the 3 of you!
Part of what I love about photographing high school seniors is capturing their individuality. It's not the same pose in the same location (or gasp, backdrop). It's getting to know them, their personality, their interests. Not everyone is a naturally smiley person. And so if you're not a smiley person, it doesn't make sense to force a canned smile for a picture. It won't feel great doing it, and it won't look like you. Which brings me to my session with Jake, a senior at Oakmont Regional High School. His mom said that we completely captured him. Not a forced-smile version of him, but him. Laid-back, a little stoic, and a genuinely great guy.
Mariah is beautiful inside and out. This lovely lady is a dancer, so we definitely wanted to include her talents as part of her session. We decided on my favorite local portrait location in North Central Mass for her senior portrait session - here are some of my favorites from her session.
Ryan, a senior at Oakmont High, is this morning's senior portrait feature. So totally easy-going, with a ton of style, his session was a breeze. He's not on social media, he likes bow ties and sports jackets, and is so easy to be around.
I selected one of my favorite portrait locations in North Central Mass for his senior session because of the variety it offers. Looking through his pictures, I'm actually kind of amazed that one location offers all of these backdrops. And he pretty much looks like a J Crew model, especially love the black & whites!
I love when high school seniors come to my photography studio in Central Mass with a strong sense of who they are, and how they'd like to be portrayed in their senior portraits - Izzy and Gabby are identical twins who go to Oakmont High, and while different, they both ooze style and grace. Total fashionistas, we talked about their favorite stores, style (including Izzy's crazy platform heels and Gabby's love of music and vinyl records) and personalities, and together came up with some pretty phenomenal ideas for their high school senior portrait session. We celebrated their individuality but also the bond that only twin sisters can have.
